The QC Laboratory at Mazgaon Terminal Lube Plant has been conferred the prestigious National Accreditation Board for testing and calibration Laboratories, (NABL) accreditation. This is the third lab in HPCL to get NABL accreditation, the others being at Budge-Budge Terminal, Kolkata, and the QC lab at Visakh Refinery.

National Accreditation Board for testing and calibration Laboratories (NABL) is an internationally recognized independent accreditation body established by the Government of India and undertakes certification of the Laboratories.

The accreditation required carrying out inter-laboratory cross-check programme and Mazgaon laboratory conducted the programme with ASTM. The results obtained on these round robin tests were well within 1 Sigma for all the tests.

As a result of this certification, the test certificates issued by these Laboratories have global acceptance basis mutual agreement of NABL under APLAC and ILAC. The Certification no. for Mazgaon Lab. for Chemical testing is T-1538 and is valid until 1st Dec 2010.
