HP DG Clean

HPCL Green R&D Centre (HPGRDC), Bengaluru has developed
indigenous HP DG Clean technology for capture of particulate

matter from the exhaust gases of diesel generators. The
technology aims at reducing the particulate matter content by

70% in the exhaust gases. A demonstration HP DG Clean unit is
being set up at HPCL terminal in Bengaluru. HP DG Clean
technology is less CAPEX intensive compared to other

conventional technologies. HPCL is now ready to offer HP DG
      Clean technology to external customers.

      HP VRU

As per the statutory mandate of National Green Tribunal (NGT)/CPCB and
directives of the Supreme court of India, HPCL is installing Vapor Recovery

Units at various POL depots & terminal on Pan India basis.
Vapour Recovery Unit (VRU) is import dependent item with proprietary
design and currently being executed by Indian vendors through foreign

partnership/technological collaboration. Cost of VRU units are
considerably higher. In view of this, HPCL R&D has developed a cost

effective indigenous HP-VRU technology for the capture of hydrocarbons
from POL depots & terminal. HP-VRU technology is based on adsorption of
hydrocarbons vapours on activated carbon and desorption by means of

vacuum. For a continuous process, two activated carbon beds are
required. One bed is in adsorption whilst the other bed is regenerated.
